SC Lucht Fotografica Ballpoint Pen
About SC Lucht Fotografica Ballpoint Pen
The Fotografica ballpoint pen from SC Lucht is a unique item that will be treasured by anyone lucky enough to own one. The pen pays homage to the typical style of Leica cameras from the 1950’s, in particular the Leica M3, and just about every aspect of the pens design is a reflection of that camera:
- Metal parts are recreated from magnesium alloy as used in many cameras.
- The black coating on the barrel replicates the covering of the M3.
- The clip is shaped like a film winding lever from a camera.
- The knurled top button is similar to the winder on many cameras.
The most interesting aspect of this pen though is that it secretly conceals a tiny Stanhope lens within the knurled top button! Pull the button off and there is a tiny hole through which you will see an historic French scene. The image is a photographic print on a tiny lens about 2mm in diameter. Stanhope lenses were introduced in the late 1800’s and were often used as novelties concealed in every day items such as thimbles, tape measures and even walking sticks! Nowadays they are rare and sought after by collectors around the world.
The Fotografica pen is a limited edition of just 500 pens, each individually handmade in Germany. The pen is presented in a gift box and also comes with a soft brown leather storage pouch and takes standard G2 Parker style refills.
